You not only can, but
also should, do something about the hair in your dog’s
ear.
Allowing hair to grow
long in the ear can promote infections. Poodles,
Schnauzers and other breeds with large amounts of facial
hair will also grow hair in the ear canal area.
Make plucking ear hair
part of the regular grooming routine. To do this,
lightly dust the dog’s ear with ear powder to loosen the
hair. This will allow the hair to be plucked out gently
with the fingers. As an alternative, pluck ear hair
using blunt edged tweezers. After the hair has been
removed, the ear powder must be washed away using an ear
cleanser applied with a cotton swab.
The products Pet Supplies “Plus” carries
in this area include Rich
Health Ear Cleaning Powder and Cleaner, and Four Paws
Ear Wipes.
